A graduate of West Virginia University, Farron Moss is the proud father of four children - two girls and two boy - and his entire family enjoys hunting and the sport of archery.  Farron, like his father did for him and his brothers, is teaching his family the enjoyment one gets from all outdoor sports.  Between fishing, hunting, camping or just target shooting, the Moss family loves to be outside enjoying the wonderful wildlife which God has given our area.

Farron was introduced to archery by none other than his grandmother, who gave him and his brothers each a recurve bow when he was twelve years old.  Two years later, Farron bought his first compound bow and he was hooked!  A few years after that, the rifle was put away for good and since then it has been all archery, all the time.

Ryan Moss was born in West Virginia in 1979.  After graduating from Gilmer County High School in 1997, he majored in chemistry at Glenville State College.

Ryan's first Mathews bow was an LX.  His dad, Rodney Moss, taught him to hunt while growing up in West Virginia, and older brothers Farron and Doug also helped.

Best shot with a bow:  58 yards on a 4x6 elk in 2007.

Worst shot with a bow:  Never happened.

Favorite movies:  The Godfather (I and II - Part 3 never happened), Casablanca, Animal House, Austin Powers.

Ryan is also a Seinfeld buff, and enjoys making fun of Scotty Gerbich.

What's on Ryan's Mathews bow in 2008:

  • First and most important - Viper sight.  Its pins are very bright in low light, plus it has the Viper light if extra light is needed.

  • The stabilizer - Doinker® 4" Shorty Hunter.  It has Realtree® Hardwoods HD®, which matches the Lost Camo pretty closely.
  • Mathew T5 quiver in Lost Camo.  This quiver is unbelievable.  It works so well, and is our #1-selling quiver at Hoffman Archery.
  • Arrows - last year Ryan was shooting the Carbon Express® Terminator Hunter arrows.  This year he is trying the Carbon Express® CX Edge, which is a skinny, heavy shaft.
  • Broadheads - on Appalachian Outdoors TV, Ryan shot an eight-point whitetail buck with an 85-grain G5 Montec broadhead.  In November, he shot a 4x6 elk with the very same broadhead.  You can see a picture of the elk in the Photo Gallery.
  • Ryan's back-up bow in 2008 will be the Mission Journey.
